Excursion in Cathar Country

Located 1 hour from the gîte, the impressive Cathar castles of Quéribus and Peyrepertuse can be the subject of a beautiful day's excursion. Their vertiginous visit can be combined with the no less spectacular Gorges de Galamus...

Trip to Catalonia

We are also ideally located for visiting Catalonia. This rich Spanish region is full of tourist attractions and deserves a day trip, or even several !





40 minutes from the gîte, via the free motorway, Figueres is famous for its Dali Museum...





A little further, you can discover Cadaquès, this magnificent port where the houses with white facades were so dear to the heart of Dali !





Girona is also worth a visit, and not just for its cathedral made famous by the filming of the Game of Thrones series...





Besalu (photo opposite), Pals, Peratallada, Begur, Calella de Palafrugell, Tossa de Mar, the Greco-Roman ruins of Empuries,... The list of towns and villages to discover is long !





And then we cannot forget the Catalan capital : Barcelona (2 hours from the lodge by free motorway) which alone is teeming with emblematic sites such as the Sagrada Familia (opposite) and the famous Parc Güell (below). And what about its cosmopolitan atmosphere which overflows with animation !





Finally, for thrill seekers, the cottage is located 2h45 from the famous Port Aventura amusement parks...

Festivals and events

The department is not stingy in festive events, difficult to make an exhaustive list. Here are a few to discover throughout the year :




In February, the Bear Festival, a very old carnival festival, takes place in Arles-sur-Tech, Prats-de-Mollo and Saint-Laurent-de-Cerdans in the purest Catalan tradition.




In April, during "Holy Week", another Catalan tradition, more than six centuries old, awaits you in Collioure, Elne, Arles-sur-Tech, Bouleternère... the best known being that of Perpignan : the procession of the Sanch.




In May, Céret celebrates its famous red fruits during the Cherry Festival and Céret de Bandas !




On the night of June 23, the whole department is set ablaze for the Fires of Saint John, a highly Catalan tradition up to the summit of Canigou...

With the beautiful days, many festivals punctuate the warm summer evenings, in the forefront of which :




Début Juin, le Bacchus Festival, le premier festival 100% épicurien / 100 % circuit court anime le parc du Château de Valmy à Argelès sur Mer.

Un bon moment à vivre en famille, entres amis pour découvrir les Vins du Roussillon dans un cadre exceptionnel avec une scène donnant sur la mer, un village de 21 exposants des vins du Roussillon tirés au sort, des espaces fooding mettant en valeur les produits locaux et l’enchainement de 3 concerts par soir.




- the Festival des Déferlantes in Céret takes place at the beginning of July and offers an enticing programme :




- the Eté 66 festival is a free cultural event offered by the department, combining heritage and music. Jazz, rock, electro, flamenco, classical music : a varied program to discover throughout the month of July !




- the Live festival at Campo, in Perpignan also promises great evenings :




- the Electrobeach festival in Port-Barcarès brings together electro music fans on July 14, 15 and 16, 2022 !

Des artistes verriers de renommée internationale investissent plusieurs points dans la ville pour vous présenter leurs dernières créations. Au programme : démonstrations autour du verre, expos-ventes et animations diverses...
